We kept Mandarin Ducks for 13 years from 2007 until 2020. We kept them for the joy of it and sold progeny when we had a surplus available. Mandarin Ducks are a small flighted duck which need to be housed in an aviary. We housed our Mandarins in a large aviary with natural surrounds and a pond with running water which they loved. We believe that keeping them in a large aviary with a natural environment is the secret to the generally good success we had in breeding these birds naturally.
